The better you look after your tattoo, the better it will look. Prior to getting your tattoo done I recommend you purchase a tube of Bepanthem (nappy rash cream) from either your local pharamacy or large supermarket.
Your finished tattoo will be wrapped with cling film which you must leave on for at least 5 hours. Make sure you wash your hands well, then remove the cling film and wash your tattoo gently with cold water. Pat it dry with a sheet of strong kitchen towel and then apply a thin layer of Bepanthem. Re-wrap your tattoo with cling film, if necessary using white surgical tape to hold the cling film in place.
Continue with this for five days changing the cling film 2-3 times each day. After the first five days you will no longer need to use cling film however you must apply cream to your tattoo as often as possible, at least every 1-2 hours to ensure it does not dry out. Avoid swimming, taking hot baths, using steam rooms, saunas and jacuzzis for at least 2 weeks.
